One Word Per Tick

To break the Sub-Vocalization habit, we start by doing one word for each tick.

After you start the beat timer by clicking on the link below, place your index finger under the first word on the line. As you hear the next tick, silently say the first word to yourself.

After you hear the tick and silently say the first word to yourselt, slide your index finger from left-to-right and put it under the next word on the line. Silently say that one word to yourself as you hear the next tick.

Keep the beat at one word for each tick. This may seem very slow. But, it will help you to break the habit of Sub-Vocalization more quickly. It can also help you learn to keep the beat more quickly.

After you can easily keep the beat at one word for each tick with 100 percent comprehension, move to the Two Word Per Tick Exercise and never run this exercise again.
